On Sunday, February 11, 2024, the world celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, recognising the invaluable contributions of females in STEM fields. As part of this global effort, the BREAKthrough EU project stands at the forefront of innovation. Our integrated multidisciplinary approach aims to combat Gram-negative bacteria by enhancing the permeability of their outer membrane, utilising existing antibiotics more effectively. On this significant day, we highlight the importance of diversity and inclusivity in scientific endeavors, empowering women and girls to drive transformative breakthroughs in research and development.
